Developers, The MTA Bus Time system is Open Source!

MTA Bus Time is powered by the OneBusAway Open Source software package (see also the MTA Bus Time Technology page).  This means that what the core system does the MTA got for free, and that all of our additions are free for others to use.  It also means that if you have ideas about how to improve the MTA Bus Time system and the developer skills to implement them, you may be able help.

Of course, any contributions to the OneBusAway project will not become part of the MTA Bus Time system without extensive review, but we are open to the possibility if you are up to the challenge.  If you have ideas or want to get involved at this level, please post your thoughts to the MTA Developer Resources Google Group.
